What does a data scientist do?

Health data, such as patient records and clinical trial results, is increasingly digitized in hospitals and doctor’s offices. As a data scientist, you analyze this data, extract relevant information, and suggest improvements in diagnostics and therapy.

As a data scientist, you create these results through a synergy of IT know-how and medical expertise. Did you know that data scientists are in high demand and among the most well-paid experts in many increasingly digitized medical workflows? Our research shows the demand for data scientists in the medical field is only going to grow.

Can I become a data scientist?

We have developed a dedicated system that makes understanding and studying complex issues within statistics easy. Our many practical examples help guide you to a better understanding. Data scientists are in high demand because not everyone has the time or resources to study statistical analysis methods.

Take the next step in your career

We understand that transitioning to a new career can be challenging, so we’re here to support you every step of the way. Our team is dedicated to helping you navigate the transition to becoming a data scientist. We will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence you need to succeed. You can trust us to be there for you, ensuring your success in this exciting new field.

Your coach

Our CEO and chief data scientist, Dr. Alexander Krannich, will be your course leader. Dr. Krannich has studied statistical analysis, clinical trial management, and medical science. He has over 15 years of experience and expertise working as a statistician and data scientist in various leadership positions in both academic and pharmaceutical fields. Furthermore, Dr. Krannich is a guest researcher at the renowned German hospital Charité in Berlin. Dr. Krannich is also an editor for various statistical journals. He advises multiple research groups worldwide and has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications on PubMed.

Your very own career plan

We’ll work with you to develop a strategy tailored to your needs and help you succeed as a data scientist in academic or industrial research. If you are working towards a scientific career, we’ll help you plan your studies, from data collection to analysis and publication. We’ll also support you in preparing third-party funding applications, submissions to authorities, and scientific lectures and poster presentations. All of this is tailored to your goals, your desired position as a data scientist, your doctorate, habilitation, and professorship.

Data as the key to success

Our course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in data science in the medical field. You will study various programming languages to analyze data using sophisticated statistical methods. In addition to the methods of scientific work, you will learn how to plan and implement data collection and preparation. Then, you’ll be able to analyze data independently and know how to interpret the results. We will also show you how to best present your data with the corresponding interpretation in a publication.

Machine learning and artificial intelligence

Our course also covers various machine learning and artificial intelligence methods, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning models. You will get to train and validate models on your own data, which you can then apply in your day-to-day work.

Personal discussions and training platform

Our course is designed to be flexible and accessible. On top of the weekly live calls, where we discuss your questions and progress, our training platform offers many different resources for you. You’ll have access to training videos, sample studies and data, programming instructions, and exercises on all topics. You can also get answers to your questions in our daily chat. We believe that learning is a lifelong process, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
